‘Not Seeking Votes…’: Sunita Kejriwal Reads Husband’s Message From Lock-Up At Opposition Rally – News18

Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday (March 31) participated in the Opposition INDIA bloc’s ‘Maha Rally’ at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital. She read out the message sent by the Chief Minister from the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED’s) custody.

“I am not seeking votes today. I’m not asking you to make someone win or lose. I’m seeking support to make a new India,” she said while reading out the message.

In a show of opposition unity ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, INDIA bloc leaders came together at a ‘Loktantra Bachao’ rally in the backdrop of Kejriwal’s arrest.

NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI general secretary D Raja, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren were among the first to reach the Ramlila Maidan.

CM Kejriwal, who was arrested on March 21, faces allegations of direct involvement in a conspiracy related to the formulation of excise policy favouring specific individuals.

The Chief Minister, whose ED custody was extended till April 1 by Delhi court, is also accused of soliciting kickbacks from liquor businessmen in exchange for favours, as claimed by the probe agency.
